Function:
The purpose of a filter indicator is to protect the system from moisture, acids, and solid contaminants; this filter is to be installed on the liquid line. Moisture presence, immediately indicated by the accompanying indicator, can cause ice formation. Under normal charging and operating conditions, the refrigerant should pass through the indicator in a completely liquid state. The presence of bubbles indicates partial evaporation of the fluid along the liquid line.
Construction:
All models of indicator filters have a body and head made of steel UNI EN 10130 DC04. The two parts are assembled by MIG welding. In these filters, the desiccant charge is composed of a single, compact block made of 100% 3 Å molecular sieve. This cartridge is paired with a special felt that allows efficient mechanical filtering combined with low resistance to fluid flow, enhancing dehydration effectiveness. The presence of the indicator downstream of the filter instantly ensures the real effectiveness of the filter. The indicator features a moisture-sensitive element that changes color from green to yellow in the presence of moisture in the system; yellow indicates that it is time to replace the desiccant filter. The production range includes versions with SAE Flare and brazed steel threaded connections.
Installation:
To optimize filter performance, it is recommended to install it with the longitudinal axis vertical and the arrow pointing downward. Given the importance of filters within the system, scheduled maintenance is advised to verify their efficiency and ensure proper system functioning.
